The Michael Kameo Foundation
Who was Michael Kameo?
Michael Kameo was 20 months old with a pure and beautiful soul. He had a loving disposition and sought only to please others and share his happiness. He was always filled with smiles and laughter. On March 16, 2020, Michael Kameo tragically passed away from a respiratory virus. Purim was the last holiday he had shared with his family. The Michael Kameo Foundation was established to commemorate his life and the joy that he spread through the power of giving.
Our mission is to spread joy and make a difference in people’s lives by providing Jewish holiday provisions to those in need throughout the year. The Michael Kameo Foundation would like to Honor the concept of “hiddur mitzvah,” beautification of the mitzvah by helping families during the holidays year-round.
Since Purim was the last holiday Michael Kameo shared with his family, the foundation will always distribute costumes, provide Matanot L’Evyonim (gifts for the poor), Mischloach Manot (Purim baskets), and Seudahs (Purim meals).
By seeing the world through the eyes of a child, we can connect with Michael and capture what it means to live in the present moment and give from the heart while fulfilling the mitzvot that ensures everyone can enjoy the Jewish holidays all year round. All funds will be collected throughout the year, through various events, revolving around Michael’s favorite activities and be distributed to perpetuate the festivities of each holiday for those in need.
